Winter Patrols

Members patrol the lower canyon trails (Cameron Pass Nordic Rangers patrols the upper trails in the winter season) after hunting season (usually January - April). We put on a Winter Patrol KON to explain the rules, indicate the trails patrolled, and discuss equipment needs and safety issues.  We maintain a list of PWV members interested in patrolling, recruit mentors to aid PWV members not experienced in winter hiking, and report details to the USFS and the BOD.  Participation in Winter Patrols does not count toward the 6-patrol expectation.
