September 7th, PWV is hosting a trail restoration work day starting at 8:30 AM to help the Forest Service restore the Young’s Gulch Trail from the damage it suffered in last years fire. Some parts of the trail were heavily burned and there has been a great deal of erosion to the trail and damage at many of the stream crossings.
Our plan for the work day is to invite PWV members, other volunteer groups and the general public to come and help restore the trail so that it will once again be both safe and a pleasure to hike. A work day consists of working on drainage to address current problems on the trail and to help with future erosion problems. This does involve some physical labor but we will also have tasks that anyone in generally good health can help with. The work day will be on September 7th. This work day is open to all our members and the public. Everyone must be at least 18.
If you are interested in coming and helping out on the trail we ask that you register below. After you register we will send you the specifics on schedule, parking and what you should bring.
